For over 290 years, the Moravian Church Eastern West Indies Province has been a pillar of faith and education throughout the Caribbean.
With active congregations and schools in Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Antigua, St. Kitts, Tortola, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Church continues its mission to nurture holistic development — spiritually, academically, and socially.
The Moravian Church Eastern West Indies Province proudly presents Project Eiréné, an initiative designed to help youth manage their anger in a constructive way. Based on Neilson Waithe’s book “Anger Management”, this program aims to train mentors who will work with schools and community groups to guide our youth towards peace.
“Eiréné,” the Greek word for “Peace,” embodies our vision of reducing crime and violence, one child at a time. By partnering with schools, government, community groups, and faith-based institutions, we strive to heal our land and create a brighter future for all.
Zola Phillips is a passionate educator and facilitator dedicated to empowering young people with the tools to resolve conflict peacefully and purposefully. As part of Project Eiréné, she helps guide students, teachers, and parents through the process of understanding anger, emotional literacy, and faith-based conflict resolution.
With her warm, practical teaching style, Zola creates safe spaces for learning, reflection, and transformation—helping every participant move from frustration to understanding, and from anger to peace.
The core goals of Project Eiréné are as follows.
To reduce anger and violent incidents in schools and communities.
Helps schools develop and refine their curricula to align with Ministry of Education standards and effectively deliver conflict resolution programs.
Trains school guidance counselors and staff to manage anger and reduce violence through proven intervention techniques.
Improves school infrastructure and learning spaces to create safe, engaging, and world-class environments that promote peace and learning.
